Battle of the Matte Palettes - (Total Shopping Indecision!!!)
Friday, May 09, 2014Ok so this isn't going to be a "normal" product comparison/review between two palettes as I haven't actually purchased either item. In fact I'm turning to you guys for your advice and opinions so I can decide which way to go. Help!
Normally I have this shopping thing down-pat, if it were a sport I'd be in the nationals! 80% of all my beauty purchases have an exhaustive amount of research put into them, with reading countless reviews, comparing multitudes of swatch photos, watching youtube video reviews and when possible going in store to try the product myself. As the years have gone by I've become more and more selective in what I purchase and when, all thanks to the interwebz and beauty blog-o-sphere - it's probably why I enjoy doing product reviews on my blog as I feel I can give back something to maybe someone out there whose trying to decide on their next beauty acquisition too!
And yes I realise to those out there this may all seem incredibly materialistic but smeh, this is my hobby and I'm sure other areas of interest have the same kind of online review culture too. Actually now that I think of it, all my tech purchases follow the same research route - and I've been a photographer/nerd for way longer than I've been into makeup.
Anywho rant aside, here's the two products I can't choose between LOL - the Viseart Matte #1 palette (brought to my attention by the ever lovely Karima over at Shameless Fripperies) and the Paula's Choice Nude Mattes Eyeshadow Palette (after seeing a video review by Wayne at GossMakeupArtist).
- Viseart Matte Palette #1 -
Cost $85.50USD (Camera Ready Cosmetics) - unless anyone knows where I can get it cheaper that ships to Aussie?
Number of Eyeshadows - 12 (mostly brown and beige neutrals with a black and grey thrown in)
Total weight of product - not sure

- Paula's Choice Nude Mattes Eyeshadow Palette -
Cost $40USD (Paula's Choice)
Number of Eyeshadows - 12 - 11 matte and 1 shimmer ranging from light neutral beige to matte black
Total weight of product 0.6oz

Both I've seen have rave reviews for and now I guess I'm just tied up trying to figure out if the Viseart is worth twice as much as the Paula's Choice. Any input is hugely welcomed!

This will be a totally unhelpful comment, but if you do get the Viseart I would LOVE to see a review on it. I've been obsessing over it for ages but good reviews are hard to find! :)
ReplyDeleteLOLs any comment is helpful - I'll put you down as 1 for the Viseart :)
Deleteand for sure if I get the Viseart palette I'll def do an in depth review!
