So I've been trying to figure this post out for a while now - ever since I splurged (yet again) on an RBR sale and picked up the rest of their matte eye shadow line. Essentially I wanted to create a post that showed the variety of ways you can use matte eye shadows and showcase the beauty-bag-work-horses that they are.

I also wanted to share with you guys what I've discovered/fallen in love with over the last year or so since I started using mattes as part of my beauty routine.

Today's post is a review of the Romantic Eye Palette by Too Faced Cosmetics. I lusted after this little beauty for an age before finally caving and picking it up on sale at beautybay.com :) - keep reading for more photos and swatches! 

An age ago Kat ordered the Sigma Eye Shadow Bases soon after they were released as they looked like promising, cheaper versions of MAC's Paint Pots. She ever so graciously brought them into work for me to to try and then I forgot about them for a few months. Then last week I remembered them and asked Kat if I could borrow them to review for you guys here on the blog :)

I recently hauled some goodies from snet which included this super cute Cargo limited edition kit. This particular kit has been out for a while now and is no longer available on the Cargo site but can be picked up at various 3rd party sites/distributors - mine cost $26AUD from strawberrynet.com

I've previously only tried Cargo's liquid foundation but had read great things about their blushes and was keen to try some out! I saw the kit and thought for $26 its a pretty good bargain to try out 4 Cargo products.

On to the kit!

A while ago I was killing time in Myers, swatching away with careless abandon LOL when I stumbled over this eye shadow quad at the Chanel stand. It was lust at first swatch! For some reason I just couldn't get past one intriguing purple shade and decided I needed to make it mine.

After my last post mentioning Black Friday deals (yeah, yeah I know it's January LOL) I found a mini review I did ages ago about Concrete Minerals Naughty & Nice collection that I got in a haul! 

My only haul this past Black Friday was one I had actually waited all year for - Sugarpill's.

Flamepoint palette, Sweetheart palette, Frostbitten trio, Atomic trio and Paperdoll

I missed the sale back in 2012 by a mere 48hrs (being here in Aussieland I didn't really take notice of Black Friday sales dates) and was sufficiently devastated >=( . However I swore 2013 was going to be my year! I only missed out on one item I wanted, Goldilux, which was top-of-the-want-list-worthy but as I was stuck at work waiting for the time difference to kick over I missed the first hour or so of the sale and by the time I hit "buy" on my already pre-filled shopping cart it was sold out.

Anyways, I've been holding out on posting as I wanted to do a super-uber-duper review of all my goodies in one phototastic post, but you' d all be waiting til November '14 at this rate LOL.
